Most Business Analysts would have encountered a scenario in their project where a Business Stakeholder might feel like he/she did not get all of what was asked in the requirement deliverable while the Business Analyst might feel he/she has documented and accounted for all of the Stakeholder asks in the requirement deliverable. If we think about how a Business Analyst landed in this scenario – an easy answer that comes to mind may be “What you (Stakeholder) Say is What you Get”. While that may be true to some extent that cannot be the only answer as well. This scenario not only results in an unhappy Stakeholder; it also negatively impacts the project deliverable timelines and may even put the project at RISK. None of this is what any Stakeholder or Business Analyst would want to see happen.

Like many other areas, career mentoring has taken on a new feel in today’s work place and has become more “remote mentoring”. I was recently asked to help develop a remote mentoring program with my alma mater, St Mary’s University of Minnesota to match graduating seniors up with alumni for career development in the industries of the student’s majors. While the program has traditional mentoring expectations; provide insight for career direction, sharing knowledge & experience and being a positive coach, it does so in a remote environment with scheduled video calls rather than meetings for coffee or lunch. Regardless, the impact of having a coach/mentor still provides the benefits for both parties.

OAKDALE, MN -- As most of you know by now, the Logisolve Health Sciences Capability has been developing solutions in the clinical messaging space since our inception - which is coincidentally about the same time electronic prescribing started gaining transaction more than 20 years ago. Over the years, we have developed solutions that connect electronic medical record systems (EMRs), pharmacy systems, and pharmaceutical benefit management (PBM) systems for the purpose determining, prescribing, and filling a prescription. Our latest integration involves a pharmacy system that was already connected for electronic prescribing, but through another vendor. They decided they have reached a point where they would like to connect directly to increase their flexibility and remove their dependance on another company. They were referred to Logisolve due to our experience in exactly this type of solution. After initial meetings, it was determined that the best approach would be to introduce a small Logisolve team to work directly with their technical team. They would handle all pharmacy system development while Logisolve would create the integration server that would be compliant with all NCPDP (the pharmacy standard used for transactions) requirements. The Logisolve team would also have resources that are subject matter experts in NCPDP , needed certification, and clinical messaging. After we scoped out the needs of the pharmacy system, we put together the team to quickly create an integration module that will interact with them. After a few short months, the project will be wrapping up with certification this month. It's been a great project where teams from both companies work together to make a very productive technical team. We enjoyed working with team members from Europe and throughout North America, and of course Minnesota. Meeting people from different parts of the world is a great side benefit of the project-based work we are involved with at Logisolve. If you haven't upgraded your EMR, Pharmacy System, or PBM software to transmit prescription information in this latest version, you are out of compliance with Medicare Part D ePrescribing mandates put out by the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Surescripts has granted a buffer period to allow all parties a little more time to get the needed upgrade completed and are providing translation services from the older versions to 2017071. But time is quickly running out.

On April 25th, 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal. When I first heard about it, I wasn’t ready to accept it. Had it been a nightmare I would wake up to make sure that was just a dream? Unfortunately, that was real, and it breaks my heart again and again. This earthquake was a monster. It cruelly devastated lives of Nepalese inside and outside the country. It took lives of thousands of people inside the country, and many were injured severely. Tears didn’t stop as thousands of poor hearts became homeless, and many standing in a line by the holy Bagmati River to cremate dead bodies of their loved ones. With Rescue team unable to reach in rural areas on time, enormous number of people lived/ may be living with no food or water for several days.
With this information I would like to introduce briefly about myself. My name is Sanjeev Thapa and I’m currently working for United Health Group through LogiSolve. I work as a Business Intelligence Analyst, and I’m very grateful to LogiSolve for providing me with this opportunity in the area that I am comfortable working. Moreover, the friendly nature of this company and its team is definitely admirable.
LogiSolve had reached out to me regarding any help that this company could offer to collect aid to help the victim in Nepal. This was very thoughtful. The application, known as CARS (Cash Application/Reconciliation System), provides functionality to greatly ease the process of receiving, posting, and balancing a healthcare organization’s cash receipts.
CARS was developed over the past several years through a collaboration between Allina Hospitals and Clinics and LogiSolve to reduce the amount of resources needed to reconcile incoming cash and payer data errors; called 835 payments (the process for correcting the errors involved people manually following up with each payer and was effort intensive). Since implementing CARS in 2009, Allina has increased operational efficiency and reduced expense while improving its ability to reconcile cash throughout all of its facilities-and reduced staff by 20 people (who were reallocated to other administrative areas within Allina). Now that is well defined ROI!

Shannon was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) when she was 2 years old. The Shannon Open has generated over 100,000 dollars to the CF foundation.
